HKS high performance camshafts are computer-aided design (CAD) to optimize torque and horsepower in the broadest power band feasible. Each camshaft application comes in a variety of profiles, each with its own lift and duration characteristics to accommodate different tuning levels. Lower profiles provide significant power improvements and a wide power band while sacrificing little drivability. Higher profiles produce more power, but they are designed for higher RPM ranges and racing purposes.

HKS camshafts are machined from new billet cores made of a high nickel content iron alloy, rather than reground OEM parts. HKS is able to make camshafts that are comparable to or better than the OEM units they are supposed to replace since they are all made from billet cores. HKS camshafts are direct replacements for factory valve train components and are designed to work with them. HKS high-performance valve springs are highly recommended and necessary in particular applications due to the greater profile of HKS camshafts.

  • Maximum Capable Engine RPM (less than the stock rev. limiter): Approximately 8,000rpm
  • Tappet Clearance: Cold State (20±5℃): 0.45±0.02mm
    Warm State (Reference): 0.51±0.02mm

  • The following values are selected under the condition of using the stock cam sprocket. (The value may vary with each engine’s characteristic.)
  • The following timing was for the best engine output according to the test HKS conducted.
  • The best timing may vary depending on the settings, engine’s specifications, and/or intake/exhaust parts’ specifications. It is NOT recommended timing.
  • When using a surface ground cylinder block or head, the valve timing may be different from the values shown below
